DANCES AT THE BAY

After a monumental first year, Dances at the Bay continues to honor our deep commitment to the community—an event for Hamilton, by Hamilton, and about Hamilton. HCA Dance + Theatre is proud to present Dances at the Bay (formerly Dusk Dances Hamilton), a vibrant, free summer celebration with an optional donation, ensuring all are welcome to enjoy the festivities. Taking place annually on the third weekend in July at Bayfront Park, this festival promises to be a highlight of the summer for Hamiltonians of all ages. After a decade of licensing Dusk Dances, HCA Dance + Theatre is stepping forward to carry on the tradition, as Dusk Dances Inc. shifts its focus away from licensing. Under the visionary direction of artistic director Vitek Wincza, Dances at the Bay will bring fresh energy and creativity to the festival, making it a true reflection of Hamilton’s spirit. Join us for this exciting new chapter and celebrate the power of dance in a way that unites and uplifts our community!

CHILDREN'S ARTS EXPLORATION FIELD TRIPS

HCA Dance + Theatre invites you and your class to embark on a full-day, immersive field trip that integrates the arts with Ontario’s Ministry of Education Curriculum. Designed for grades K-8, our unique approach blends observational and hands-on learning, allowing students to bring the curriculum to life through the arts. By engaging with history, geography, cultures, and nature in creative ways, students will be inspired as they perform and create in an environment where children learn from and perform for their peers. Each field trip aligns with expectations from The Ontario Curriculum: The Arts and connects directly with Social Studies themes, making this an enriching and unforgettable learning experience for your students.

PERFORMING ARTS SUNDAY SERIES

HCA Dance + Theatre's classical music series, a beloved tradition for over two decades, evolved in 2021 into the Performing Arts Sunday Series (PASS). This transformation expanded the program beyond its roots in live classical music, incorporating complementary theatre and dance performances to engage contemporary audiences in dynamic new ways. PASS continues to honor the tradition of live music while shining a spotlight on modern issues through multidisciplinary works that blend sound, movement, and storytelling. Bringing world-renowned artists to Hamilton at accessible costs, this innovative series offers a fresh and thought-provoking experience, bridging classical traditions with the themes and challenges of today’s world.
