HCA Dance Theatre needs committed and enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about helping dance flourish in Hamilton to serve on our Board of Directors and to support Dusk Dances Hamilton

Dusk Dances Hamilton Volunteers

Building on last year’s success, Dusk Dances Hamilton returns to Bayfront park from July 25-28, 2019. We need your help to make sure every evening runs smoothly! Dusk Dances Hamilton is looking for:

  • 11 volunteers for each night of the festival and 6 for the dress rehearsal
  • on-call volunteers for the rain dates

Position duties include:

  • Information table
  • Production
  • dressing room security
  • site security
  • ushering
  • program stuffing
  • nightly set-up/tear down of info table and signs

Dusk Dances Hamilton 2019 takes place nightly at Bayfront Park (200 Harbour Front Drive) from July 25-28th, with a dress Rehearsal on July 24.  Production Volunteers are required from 4:30-9:30pm. Front Of House volunteers  are required from 5:30-10:30 pm

HCADT’s Board of Directors

HCADT’s Board of Directors provides organizational leadership and vision, maintains high ethical standards in accordance with our values, engages in effective planning to present dance to Hamilton audiences on an ongoing basis, and acts as wise stewards of our resources.

In particular, we are looking for people who meet one or more of the following:

  • Enthusiastic dance lovers
  • Energetic professionals who are not already overextended with other commitments, eager to contribute skills and expertise in one of the following areas: Law, Finance/Accounting, Fund Development, Outreach, Marketing and Communications
  • Community leaders and philanthropists willing to engage their peers in support of our mission
  • Individuals with board experience

We have high expectations of our board members who are required to:

  • Have a love of dance and a commitment to enriching Hamilton’s arts landscape with regular professional dance performances , workshops and other outreach activities
  • Attend a minimum of eight board meetings annually
  • Actively serve on and contribute to the outcomes on our sub-committees
  • Advocate for the organizational needs of HCA Dance Theatre in the community and among their colleagues and peers
  • Learn more about the field of dance (production, presentation, outreach) as well as non profit governance
  • Make a personal, charitable contribution to HCA Dance Theatre, to the best of their ability
